The port of Nikolaev

Port's position: Latitude 46 56'N, longitude 34 57'E. Port is situated on the left bank Yuzhny (South) Bug river 44 miles upriver from Black Sea on the Bugsko-Dneprovsko-Limanskiy canal. The canal has 13 bends: 6 of which pass through Dneprovskiy canal and 7 pass through the Yuzhny Bug river. Maximum approaching channel draft restricted by 9.8 m fresh water, LOA 215m, BEAM 30 m. Maximum draft at port is 8.8 (silo berth) -9.8 (port berths) m fresh water. Vessels with dimentions/draft exceeding above can call the port after coordination with the Harbour Master of Nikolayev Sea port.

Tug-boat assistance is compulsory for vessels with LOA more 187m proceeding via the channel. Nikolayev port waters comprise two roads: the Eastern roads ( for deep draft vessels) and Western roads (for small tonnage vessels).

PILOTAGE TO THE PORTS OF NIKOLAYEV AREA IS COMPULSORY. NORMALLY THE SEA PILOT EMBARKS ON/DISEMBARKS FROM THE FOREIGN VESSELS AT THE APPROACH TO THE OUTER ROADS OF YUZHNYY WITH COORDINATES OF LAT 46 31'0 N, LONG 30 57'2 E. ETA TO PILOT STATION TO BE INFORMED TO USS AGENCY 48/24/6 HRS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.

Port handled in 1998 about 2,700,000 mts of different export/import cargoes: steel in bundles/coils, scrap/fertilizers/grain/ore in bulk, general cargo in boxes/pallets etc. Port works 24 hrs a day SHINC.

Port's position: Latitude 46 50'N, longitude 31 56'E. Port is situated on the left bank Yuzhny (South) Bug river 36 miles upriver from Black Sea on the Bugsko-Dneprovsko-Limanskiy canal. The canal until the port has 11 bends :5 of which pass through Dneprovskiy canal and 6 pass through the Yuzhny Bug river. Maximum approaching channel draft restricted by 9.8 m fresh water, LOA 215m, BEAM 30 m. Maximum draft at port is 9.8 m fresh water. Tug-boat assistance is compulsory for vessels with LOA more 187m proceeding via the channel. Port has the anchorage No. 363 in the channel for vessels with draft up to 9.8 m fresh water.

PILOTAGE TO THE PORT IS COMPULSORY. NORMALLY THE SEA PILOT EMBARKS ON/DISEMBARKS FROM THE FOREIGN VESSELS AT THE APPROACH TO THE OUTER ROADS OF YUZHNYY WITH COORDINATES OF LAT 46 31'0 N, LONG 30 57'2 E. ETA TO PILOT STATION TO BE INFORMED TO USS AGENCY 48/24/6 HRS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.

As per port regulations foreign crewmembers (excluding ex-USSR) are not allowed to go ashore at port. Port handled in 1998 about 700,000 mts of different export/import cargoes: steel in bundles/coils, general cargo in boxes/pallets etc. Port works during 0800-2400 hrs SHINC.

Port is situated on the left bank Yuzhny (South) Bug river 32 miles upriver from Black Sea on the Bugsko-Dneprovsko-Limanskiy canal. The canal to the port has 9 bends: 5 of which pass through Dneprovskiy canal and 4 pass through the Yuzhny Bug river. Maximum approaching channel draft restricted by 9.8 m fresh water, LOA 215m, BEAM 30 m. Vessels with dimentions exceeding above (Panamax-size) can be accepted by the port after coordination with the Traffic control. Tug-boat assistance is compulsory for vessels with LOA more 187m proceeding via the channel.

Dneprobugsky port has two roads: inner roads in the port area for vessels with LOA up to 200 m and outer roads in the channel.

Port operates 3 berths in line with total length 700 m. Two berths more are under construction.

Port handled in 1999 about 2,800,000 mts of bauxites as main cargo coming to the port. Dneprobugsky port handling different export cargoes as well: steel in bundles/coils, scrap in bulk, livestock, general cargo in boxes/pallets, chemical cargoes , etc. There is special complex at port for export of molasses by shore pipe into tankers with total storage capacity of tanks at port about 30,000 mts .

Port's position: Latitude 46 55'N, longitude 31 57'E. Port is situated on the left bank Yuzhny (South) Bug river 47 miles upriver from Black Sea on the Bugsko-Dneprovsko-Limanskiy canal. The canal has 13 bends until Nikolayev sea port roads and 3 bends to Nikolayev river port roads. Maximum berth draft at port is 4.5 m fresh water. Nikolayev river port waters comprise two roads: the Eastern roads ( for vessels with draft up to 4 m fresh water) and Western roads (for vessels with draft up to 2.4 m fresh water).

Port handls of different export/import cargoes: steel in bundles/coils, scrap/grain/ore in bulk, general cargo in boxes/pallets etc.Port works 24 hrs a day SHINC.
